Northern Afghanistan, December 2005 Update

 

Trekking across the district after the Taliban fell, you would have seen only two schools still standing, but they were in utter disrepair. Heaps of rubble gave indications that others once existed along the road. But traveling that same road in September of 2005, our country director had this to say...

 

As Afghanistan emerges after years of war and deprivation, the need for education is great. For three years Millennium has been partnering with villages in Northern Afghanistan to construct or repair school buildings.

Afghan School Project Wraps Up Another Successful Year


      The year 2005 ends another successful year for Millennium in Northern Afghanistan. Click here for a summary of accomplishments.

 

Your gift can help bring another new school to life. Construction is beginning in a village recently settled by Afghans forced to relocate because of disastrous floods. The school is part of Millennium’s overall community development commitment.
