Here is some information about our management and professional staff.  To minimise costs within Indonesia, all of our foreign staff are seconded to SNT by way of external NGOs.

Denny R Kussoy,

SPd, MA, MBA

Indonesian

SNT Director, Chairman of the Board

Denny's first involvement with SNT was as the director of our micro-credit programme, TIASA.  Besides being equipped with a very creative mind, a variety of previous experience in a number of fields and a willingness to direct his attention toward the complex issues of poverty alleviation and community organisation, Denny also brings a concern for humility to the community development task, a fact which allows him to dive straight in and tackle perplexing community problems side-by-side with local area leaders.  Denny believes this ‘shoulder-to-shoulder’ component to be the key factor in duplicating SNT’s potential in other regions of Indonesia.

BES, MDiv, MSc, PhD

American

SNT Coordinator, Senior Programme Design Consultant, Community Development Consultant

Lindy has had prior involvement in the design and implementation of community development projects both in Bali and in Bandung, West Java, and it is that experience which he has brought to our programme in Tasikmalaya. In addition, he nurtures a keen interest in inducing integration of the best in development theory with on-site, grass-roots development practise —  with the hope that this will result in a greater understanding and appreciation of local resources and local community aspirations. Lindy has also had extensive teaching experience in the USA, the UK, Indonesia, Singapore and Australia, all of which has been undergirded by a two-year tethering to the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI), positioned in Tasikmalaya as a field-based researcher.

He is now seconded to SNT, as an economic and community development design consultant and practitioner, through Millennium Relief and Development Services (MRDS) in the USA.

While running a micro-credit programme can be a daunting task, fortunately this sort of work is not entirely new for Asep in fact, he first became involved in our work here at SNT as one of TIASA's pioneering loan fund consultants.  Thus, as a consultant on the ground working closely with local would-be entrepreneurs in the start-up and augmentation of their micro-enterprises —  Asep knows what it means to nurse hopes and dreams into reality.  It is this knowledge and ground-level empathy he brings to the directorship of TIASA: an intimate awareness of how the programme works, right from the bottom up!

Australian

Agricultural Development Consultant, TEPAT Project Leader

Brought up on a farm, Rob went straight from high school into the building trade, where he became an experienced carpenter. This combination of both farming and building experience ideally suits him to his role in TEPAT as a consultant in agriculture and appropriate technology.

Prior to coming to Indonesia, Rob was involved in travels to a number of Pacific islands, primarily in relation to emergency relief and rescue projects. He has also studied for certificates in primary health care and in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL).
